New Leaf Agriculture offers refugees from traditional farming cultures the chance to reconnect and grow in a trade that they are already passionate about. Volunteers help the refugee farm crew in building out our twelve-acre regenerative farm. You might do a variety of tasks such as creating farm pathways, establishing cover crops, forming new beds, harvesting, and many other things while working alongside our New Leaf crew.
You will be working alongside our refugee farmers and New Leaf Agriculture Director during the volunteer shift. Each day, the activities are different and can range from mulching to weeding to planting.
Wear closed-toes shoes, a hat, long pants, and bring sunscreen and a refillable water bottle. The apprentices typically take a break and share snacks, so feel free to bring a snack as well.

FOR SARA:
Bring group waiver form!!
When you arrive there is a driveway with a small white New Leaf Farm sign in front of it. Drive down the dirt road and park in front of the open-sided barn by the greenhouse. The farm is on the back end of the property so you cannot see it from the dirt road or parking area. If you continue walking down the dirt path you should see a small pond on your left and a shed on your right. Keep walking past the shed and you should see the farm behind a small stand of trees. If you cannot find these landmarks, call Matt Simon and he will come and meet you near the parking area.
If you get lost that morning:
(Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays) Call Matt at 512-589-4029
