Ed Rowley is a native of Rochester, MN whose mother was a life long farmer and whose father was first a farmer, then a common laborer. He is a graduate of Mankato State College. Served as a Peace Corps volunteer in El Salado, Tolima, Colombia for 26 months. Ed Rowley worked in a UN-funded program in nutrition a teacher of grades 6-8 for 11 years. He raised cukes and tomatoes for sale by the bushel and geese and sheep for family and for sale. He served as agriculture and rural development director for Peace Corps Swaziland for 5 years with family and was the operation director of 14 county food bank for 16 years. He managed a community garden for 18 years with plots for 60 families and has spent the past 6 years visiting Spanish speaking immigrants detained by ICE twice a month.
